SUBSIDISED PLACEMENTS FOR ALMG SCOUTING COURSE
To support the identified skills gap in location management across Australia, ALMG Queensland member Roger Paul has developed the pilot ALMG Scouting Intensive 101 course to attract new people to the department. The project is being generously supported by Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), as well as the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC).
Adelaide local and ALMG Vice President Mark Evans, states “introducing new people to the locations department in South Australia has been on the agenda for some time, so we are thrilled to have the support of the South Australian Film Corporation with this course. We also want to thank AFTRS for their generous backing and for their continued support of ALMG.”

COURSE DELIVERY DETAILS
Delivered across 2 x Saturdays on the 5th and 12th of September, students will learn:
Tools of the trade
Photography techniques
Script breakdowns
Anchor vs ancillary locations
Lightroom/ data management and labelling
Presentation techniques
The students will also have to complete some scouting homework.

Applications close 23 August. All applications will be assessed by an AFTRS assessment team to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria, and successful candidates will be notified by email by 1 September 2026.
