Australia’s new screen industry guild

For many years, Location Department crew have held meetings to form strategies to facilitate the requirements of a rapidly changing screen industry. In recent times, there has been an increase in Locations crew connecting between states across Australia, with much experience and important information being shared! So, in early 2023 the Australian Location Managers Guild (ALMG,) was established. The guild is a way to celebrate and promote the creative and logistical contributions that Location Department teams make to bring writing and abstract concepts to screen. It is also a way for members connect, discuss industry matters and exchange knowledge in a supportive environment.

The Locations Department sources the spaces in which production teams work together, to create the screen worlds that actors or front-of-camera talent inhabit. We are the bridge between the ambitions of a production and the workings of the real world.
