video xmas card - explore the locations

For several years now, Northern Territory’s Location Manager, Fixer, award winning Aerial Cinematographer Chris Tangey, sends a video Christmas Card featuring some of Australia’s most breathtaking scenery.

Locations featured in the video are from the Northern Territory, Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia and South Australia. Tasmania will have to included next year!

Below are some of Chris’ notes about the locations.

Location Highlights:

"The waterfall is Australia's tallest single-drop waterfall, the spectacular Wallaman Falls in Queensland which fall from the height of a 60 story building.

The lily ponds are in one of many swamps on Lorella Springs station north of Borroloola in the NT. Very difficult to get to but hugely rewarding as a location with every tropical "look" you can think of. Despite the tough conditions it didn't take much to convince BBC/Framestore to shoot the Australian segments of Prehistoric Planet 2 there.

The forests are primarily on the west side of Mount St. Leonard north of Healesville in Victoria and lend themselves to some beautiful afternoon shots.

The bubbling rocks can only be reached by drone and are beneath the cliffs north of Elliston, a sleepy village on the West coast of SA's Eyre Peninsula."
