ALMG Members atTEND THE 2026 AACTA FESTIVAL
ALMG members attended another fantastic Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) festival, doing their best to represent the Australian Locations Department, while celebrating the achievements our screen industry colleagues. See the list of AACTA award winners below and read a snapshot of the festival by Mary Barltrop, Supervising Location Manager.
Congratulations to all the AACTA nominees and winners on the 4th and 6th of February!

Festival Summary by Mary BarltRop - Supervising Location Manager
I was thrilled to have joined the illustrious ALMG posse - Jacob Livermore, Roger Paul & Billie Acosta at the AACTA Industry Awards Gala at the Surfers Paradise last Wednesday 4th February. As a first-timer to an awards ceremony, it was fun, fabulous, entertaining & informative. With the industry out in force, and the food & drinks flowing, we switched into full social butterfly mode, spruiking ALMG and our work as Location professionals. With no less than thirty awards handed out on the night, the question on everyone’s lips was "why aren’t there any Locations awards??” Fingers crossed we can change that soon!
After restorative caffeine shots the next morning, we hit the ground for the daytime talks & panels, dividing and conquering to cover as many sessions as possible. Between us, we covered almost a dozen sessions, including - of course - Jacob’s starring role on the panel 'Queensland on Screen: Iconic Locations, Iconic Stories’.
Quote from the evening:
"I will continue to fight the importance of locations - I really think the industry takes your skills for granted!! " - Dr Holly Trueman, CEO Screen Canberra
